If you’re looking for a unique Palm Sunday experience, the 49th Easter Market at the Opole Village Museum is an event you simply can’t miss. With so little time left until the event, it’s the perfect time to plan your day and spend it immersed in the atmosphere of tradition and preparation for the holiday.

On March 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the historic farmsteads in Bierkowice will once again be filled with life. The open-air museum will be transformed into a space where you can not only see but also experience the ancient culture of the Opole village. This event has attracted thousands of visitors for years and has become one of the region’s most important cultural events.

The event’s program is incredibly rich and diverse. One of the highlights will be the concert by Ania Broda, “O Soul, All Devout!”, which will take place in the historic church in Gręboszów. The musical attractions will be complemented by performances by folk groups at the old mill, where you can listen to traditional songs and see local artists in action throughout the day.

Easter-related events will also be held. At 11:00 AM, the results of the “Opolskie Kroszonki i Pisanki 2026” Provincial Ritual Art Competition will be announced, followed by the opening of the post-competition exhibition. This is an excellent opportunity to witness the artistry and precision of the creators of the Kroszonki, one of the region’s most recognizable traditions.

Demonstrations of old crafts and handicrafts will be held throughout the day at the museum. Visitors will be able to witness, among other things, the process of decorating eggs using traditional techniques, cross-stitch, pottery, spinning on a spinning wheel, making Easter palms, and even painting Opole porcelain. Blacksmithing demonstrations will be held in the forge, combined with games and activities that will bring to life the realities of the craftsmen’s work in the past.

Bread-baking demonstrations in a historic oven also generate considerable interest each year. These are scheduled several times throughout the day, accompanied by tastings of fresh, traditional bread. Visitors will also enjoy the “Opolskie ze smakiem” (Opole with Taste) zone and numerous stands featuring regional products, as part of a campaign promoting conscious shopping and local producers. Families with children will enjoy a wide range of attractions. Younger visitors will be able to participate in the “In Search of the Golden Egg” field game, art workshops, Easter decoration-making classes, and retro games inspired by the traditions of past generations. The program also includes horseback riding and a farm animal presentation, which always generates great interest. An important element of the event will also be a Lenten service with the blessing of Easter palms, which will take place in the historic church. This moment highlights the spiritual dimension of this day and its connection to the traditions of the holiday. The museum will feature approximately 140 vendors selling handicrafts, Easter decorations, and culinary products. This is a perfect opportunity to find unique decorations, traditional palms, and regional delicacies not found every day.

The Easter Market at the Opole Village Museum is an event that combines tradition, culture, and a family atmosphere. It’s not just a stroll through the open-air museum, but a complete experience that engages all the senses. If you don’t have plans for Palm Sunday yet, it’s worth making a decision now, as there’s not much time left, and this event attracts crowds of visitors every year.
