Praděd

Planning a weekend trip? How about a trip to Praděd? It has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the mountains for more than half a century. It’s an important intersection of hiking trails, an ideal place for nature lovers and outdoor activities.

And if you don’t already know, nearby is the highest ski resort in the Czech Republic, perfect for winter sports fans!

At the top of the mountain awaits a transmitter with a lookout tower, the highest artificial point in the Czech Republic. The lookout tower offers a breathtaking view of the Jeseníky, Krkonoše, Beskydy and Tatra Mountains in good weather.

And that’s not all! On the territory of the reserve we can meet many rare species of plants and animals. The area of the Great Basin [Velká kotlina] is a true paradise for nature lovers, the richest floristic site in the Czech Republic.

The majestic symbol of the Jeseníky Mountains is Praděd. The highest mountain in Moravia and Silesia (1492 meters above sea level) is located on the border of the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions.
